We recently completed the full repair and refurbishment of a failed dual foul-water sewage pumping station serving a prestigious 8 bedroom residence in North West London. With the property relying entirely on this twin pump system, restoring safe and reliable operation was an urgent priority.

Complete Pump Station Repair with Controlled Waste Removal

The homeowner’s PA contacted us for a second opinion after their existing service provider declared the pumping station “end of life” and advised a full refurbishment. Following our assessment, we confirmed that a refurbishment—supported by tanker with high pressure jetting—would return the system to full working order without unnecessary expense.

Confined Space Entry & Tanker Support

On arrival, our engineers identified a failed pump and extremely restricted chamber access. All works were carried out safely by our Confined Space Trained Engineers, who are fully qualified to operate in hazardous, low access environments. A vacuum tanker with jetter was used to remove waste, clear blockages, and create a safe working area.

Refurbishment Works – Foul Sewage Pumping Station

We began with a full chamber clean and de-grease using specialist equipment and chemicals to remove all accumulated waste, fat, and debris. Once the chamber was fully cleaned and safe to enter, our team removed the existing internal equipment in preparation for the upgrade.

Before and After

We installed new pumps, stainless steel guide rails, and lifting chains, along with a complete replacement of the internal pipework using heavy duty PVC for long term durability. All four float switches were upgraded to Xylem sewage rated floats to ensure accurate and reliable level control under demanding conditions.

Following the refurbishment, the pumping station was left operating better than new—equipped with high quality, proven components designed to deliver reliable, low maintenance performance for many years.

• Replaced existing pumps with 2 × Caprari MAV sewage pump units
• Full replacement of internal pipework with heavy duty PVC
• New stainless steel guide rails, brackets, and lifting chains
• Upgraded all four level floats to Xylem sewage rated float switches
• Complete chamber clean, de-grease, and tanker assisted waste removal
• Confined Space Entry works carried out by certified engineers
